Squad Selected for the British Indoor Championships

The British Indoor will again be held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, which is also the home of GNAS. The event with take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of March.
The event is split over two days so that the Recurve archers can compete on the Saturday and the Compound and Longbow archers will compete on the Sunday.

The NIAS send a squad of 10 archers and a Team Manager based on the archers with the best handicap rating. This year the archers on the squad are (Recurve) Peter Mulligan, Martin Cunningham, Gail Reilly & Michele Johnston, (Compound) Alan Girvan, Thomas Magill, Georgina Oswald & Phoebe McGown, (Longbow) Robert Weatherup & Kevin Bloomfield with Wellesley McGown travelling as Team Manager.

Most of the archers have competed on the Senior squad at this event before but this year sees Gail Reilly and Alan Girvan making it for the first time. This years archers are all shooting very well and it is hoped that they can hold their nerve and both the Recurve and Compound teams can finish in a strong position. We had some very good individual results last year with Georgina Oswald finishing 5th in the Head to Head, Michele Johnston finishing 8th in the Head to Head having put out the British Number one earlier in the event and Robert Weatherup who came home with a Silver medal in the Gents Longbow.
